Cobot solutions

PalCobot – cobot palletiser

Short-handed in production? Want to improve ergonomics on the shop floor and relieve your operators of repetitive, physically demanding stacking work? With PalCobot you automate the palletising of boxes, crates, bags, buckets … in a user-friendly way. This compact palletiser helps you produce more efficiently and make the most of your available staff and space.

PalCobot is our ready-to-use cobot palletising solution, designed and assembled in Belgium. Thanks to its compact footprint, the installation fits into a wide range of production environments. What’s more, safety fencing is not always needed. The required safety measures are determined by the specific application and the associated risk assessment. The cobot palletiser is available in several versions, with payloads of 10, 20 and 40 kg. We match the cobot arm, gripper and configuration to your products, the desired stacking pattern and the required stacking height. Need extra reach? Then we integrate a 7th axis (lift kit or track) into the set-up.

A key differentiator is our own in-house palletising software. Using a user-friendly touchscreen interface, you easily set up stacking patterns and product formats. This lets you respond flexibly to changing product dimensions with minimal changeover time.

Safety

How can you (de)palletise safely on a compact footprint?

  • PalCobot with safety scanners on the floor next to a roller conveyor

    Safety scanners

Safety scanners slow the palletiser down as soon as an operator enters the scanner’s safety zone. This makes safety fencing, as used around a traditional robot cell, unnecessary and keeps the footprint compact.

  • PalCobot XL palletising in a fenced zone

    Hybrid set-up

Lots of traffic around the palletiser? Then a hybrid set-up of fencing combined with a scanner is a good choice. The cobot keeps stacking while a pallet is being changed.

  • PalCobot stacking plastic crates right next to a machine

    Safety analysis

How fast does the cobot move, how high does the gripper go, what is the cobot holding? All crucial questions in the safety analysis that determine which safety measures are needed.

Our own software

Create stacking patterns in the cobot palletiser software without a single line of code!

Every cobot palletiser comes with a touchscreen so that an operator can easily create a stacking pattern, or select the desired pattern from a library of saved patterns. The created or selected stacking patterns are then shown in 3D on the screen mounted on the cobot frame. Stacking patterns can also be uploaded to the cobot palletiser remotely, since the software is web-based. An added advantage is that error and log files can be monitored remotely.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about the PalCobot

Here you'll find answers to the questions customers ask us most often about our cobot palletiser. Is your question not listed? Our experts are happy to help.

  • Is safety fencing mandatory around a PalCobot?

Not always. A cobot is designed to work safely alongside people, but whether a set-up can do without fencing depends on the product, the speed and the environment. That is why we carry out a safety analysis for every project and make sure the complete installation is CE-certified according to the current 'ISO 10218-1:2025 - Robotics — Safety requirements' standard.

Safety scanners that slow down or stop the cobot as soon as someone comes too close are often enough. In some projects, we combined safety floor scanners with fencing where many operators pass by.

  • How heavy can the products be?

The PalCobot is available in models with a payload of 10, 20 and 40 kg. The weight of the gripper counts towards this payload, so the maximum product weight is slightly lower. We select the model that best suits your application.

  • How high can the PalCobot stack?

For tall pallet stacks, we can fit the cobot arm with a 7th axis, also known as a lift. This lets us stack products up to a height of 2.400 mm on Euro pallets of 800 x 1.200 mm or CHEP and industrial block pallets of 1.000 x 1.200 mm. Send us your stacking patterns and we'll check which model fits!

  • Can the PalCobot handle different product sizes?

We always provide a gripper tailored to your products. If needed, we fit a quick-change system to the end of the cobot arm, so we can quickly switch between grippers when product or box sizes differ significantly.

  • How fast does a PalCobot stack?

That depends on the weight of the product, the stacking height and the stacking pattern. On average, you can expect a stacking speed of 7 products per minute with a vacuum gripper (single pick). With a mechanical clamp gripper, expect an average of 5 boxes per minute.

Where possible, we can increase the stacking speed by picking up several products at once (multipick).

Additional factors, such as the placement of slip sheets between layers, can also influence the overall cycle time and achievable stacking speed.

  • Does an operator need to be able to program?

No. Using the touchscreen, an operator can create a stacking pattern or choose one from the library, without a single line of code. The pattern is shown in 3D on the screen. Because the software is web-based, you can also upload patterns remotely.

User levels (operator, maintenance, engineer and administrator) let you decide who may change patterns. The software is available in Dutch, English, French and German.

  • Is the PalCobot software licence included?

A lifetime licence for our palletising software is included with every PalCobot purchase. You pay a one-off fee, with no recurring subscription costs or annual licence fees. This gives you full access to the software without worrying about ongoing licence expenses.

  • Can the PalCobot stack products other than boxes?

The PalCobot can stack both open and closed boxes. With a custom gripper, we can also stack products such as jerrycans, drums, bags, buckets, KLT and plastic crates, insulation panels and more.

  • Does a palletiser need much maintenance?

We integrate cobots whose supplier states that the cobot arms are maintenance-free for 8 years. Apart from that, no maintenance is needed except for occasionally replacing wear parts on the gripper (such as suction cups). These are easy to replace yourself.
