Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR)
Technology is evolving at lightning speed and manufacturers are under pressure to work more efficiently, flexibly and safely. Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) play a key role in this transition.
These self-driving robots navigate the production environment on their own, without fixed infrastructure or predefined routes. Thanks to advanced sensors and software, they recognise obstacles, adjust their route automatically and ensure a smooth and safe flow of materials. AMRs come with user-friendly software, so customers can easily teach them new tasks themselves. Tasks can also be controlled fully automatically from a WMS, which further increases efficiency and integration with existing processes. For manufacturers, this means a considerable gain in productivity and flexibility. We guide the entire process: from drawing up a solid business case to the successful integration of AMRs into daily operations.

Good to know
What is the difference between a traditional AGV and an AMR?
An AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) and an AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robot) are similar because both are used for internal transport, but there are clear differences. An AGV always follows a fixed path, usually via magnetic strips, induction wires or reflectors. That makes the system reliable, but not very flexible. If something is in the way, the vehicle stops and waits until the path is clear again. This makes an AGV particularly suitable for repetitive and predictable processes, for example in factories or warehouses with fixed transport lines.
An AMR, on the other hand, is much smarter and more flexible. Thanks to sensors such as LiDAR and cameras, it can map its surroundings and navigate autonomously. Instead of being tied to one route, an AMR determines the shortest route itself and avoids obstacles along the way by choosing alternative paths. That makes these robots ideal for dynamic environments, such as production sites and warehouses where the situation changes constantly.
