'Made in Limburg' article: robot from Genk brings a breakthrough!
Elenco, the company of Johan and Thomas Richard, has developed a new cobot that can automatically stack boxes and other products on a pallet. "This machine of our own is the final piece of a major investment programme, which also includes the move to a new building in Zwartberg," say the managing directors.
Elenco is a company from Genk that specialises in industrial automation and everything that comes with it. Thomas and Johan Richard build industrial control panels and write software for PLC controls, for example. "We also optimise production using machine vision technology," says Thomas Richard. "We have invested heavily in this, including the development of our own cobot for palletising."
PalCobot, as the cobot palletiser is called, takes boxes, for example, off a conveyor belt and stacks them on a pallet according to a selectable pattern. "We also wrote the software to compose this pattern ourselves, including an intelligent wizard that can automatically suggest stacking patterns," says the proud managing director.
